Audio Streaming – How Do I Stream Audio From My Website?

Posted by: Neil on Thursday, January 28th, 2010

Many people would love to fiddle with various kinds of audio files but do not quite know how to record audio streams. This lack of knowledge restricts them to enjoy good music and relax according to their own convenience. But if a person is able to learn this method, he will realize that it is an overall simple process, and not at all as difficult as it sounds. If he has a copy of the recorded audio stream, then he does not have to worry about the quality of the internet connection as he will be able to listen to his favorite audio whenever he wishes to. In order to do so, it is important to know the required steps of the whole process and apply them in an organized manner.

While some people put music or messages on their personal web sites for the fun of it, speaking strictly from an ecommerce standpoint, the reason to put audio on your web site is to increase sales or sign-ups.

In test after test, a website with a message you can listen to will beat out a “silent” web site. Some experts think it’s because hearing a voice connected to a web site adds credibility — and the more trust a web site visitor feels, the more likely they are to take the action desired by the merchant.

The Easiest Way to Add Sound on Your Website:

Even though I’m fairly technically savvy for the last five years I’ve chosen to use a software program called Audio Acrobat to host and stream all my audios. This makes it very easy for me.

A program like Audio Acrobat allows you to have your mp3’s hosted and played online quickly and easily. What you do is either upload or record your audio through the program then grab a piece of code to put on your website. After adding the special code to your website you have a player that allows your users to listen to whatever audio you’ve chosen for them.

Uses for Streaming Audio?

Some great uses are:

- audio articles
– interviews
– information products
– directions
– introductions
– welcome messages

Using audio on your website is just another way to make it ’sticky’. Using this technique in combination with high quality information is sure to bring your visitors back again and again
